First Aid in the Park is a partnership between Canadian Wilderness Medical Training (CWMT) and Camp Tamakwa — bringing together Canada's leading wilderness medical educators and one of Algonquin Park's most iconic camps.
Whether you're a camp counselor, canoe trip guide, outdoor educator, or recreational adventurer, our courses provide the knowledge and confidence to respond effectively when it matters most — far from hospitals and emergency services.

Canadian Wilderness Medical Training is an organization of professionals in pre-hospital care, outdoor leadership and education dedicated to providing the best possible training and support for their clients.
CWMT instructors are members of the Wilderness Medical Society and follow the practice standards of the Wilderness Medical Society, Emergency Cardiac Care Institute, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and the American Association of Emergency Physicians.
CWMT is a certified education centre for the Emergency Care and Safety Institute and an Authorized Provider for the Canadian Red Cross. They have proudly worked with many government agencies, colleges, universities, and industry leaders in adventure tourism.

Founded in 1936, Camp Tamakwa is one of Canada's most storied summer camps, set on the shores of Tea Lake deep in Algonquin Provincial Park. Its heritage, facilities, and natural surroundings make it the ideal venue for wilderness training.
Participants enjoy full use of Tamakwa's accommodation and dining facilities — immersed in the very wilderness environment the course prepares them for.
